Sneet | Safety & Community Guidelines

How Sneet keeps young people safe — and what every user is responsible for. Last updated: May 2026 | hello@sneet.com.au | sneet.com.au

Our commitment to safety

Sneet is built around a simple belief: young people deserve real opportunities, and those opportunities should be safe, age-appropriate, and supported by their families. These guidelines exist to make that happen in practice. Sneet takes the following active steps to support safety on the platform: we require age confirmation at sign-up and apply age-appropriate rules to each tier, we require verified parental or guardian consent before any user aged 14 or 15 may participate, we restrict job categories to those appropriate for young people, we provide a clear reporting pathway for any concern raised by a user, parent, or third party, we reserve the right to suspend or remove any user or listing that presents a safety risk, and where we become aware of a potential risk to a child’s safety, we will take appropriate action which may include reporting to relevant authorities. Sneet is a connection platform. We do not supervise work, manage payments, or employ users. These guidelines set the rules for using the platform — they do not make Sneet a party to any arrangement between users.

Age tiers and participation rules

Ages 14 to 15 — Supported participation: Users aged 14 or 15 may participate only with verified parental or guardian consent. A parent or guardian must confirm their approval as part of the sign-up process before the account is activated. For all in-person tasks, a parent or guardian must have confirmed knowledge of the job location, the full name of the person who posted the job, and the agreed start and finish time. A parent or guardian must be reachable by phone during any in-person task. Adult presence at the job location is expected for all in-person tasks involving users aged 14 or 15, unless the task takes place in a clearly public setting such as a park or sports ground. Ages 16 to 17 — Greater independence: Users aged 16 or 17 may participate with greater independence. A parent or guardian email is still collected at sign-up and held on record. Parents are encouraged to be aware of their teenager’s activity on the platform. For higher-risk tasks such as in-person work at a private address, appropriate oversight is still strongly recommended. Ages 18 and over — Independent participation: Users aged 18 and over participate independently and are fully responsible for their own arrangements, decisions, and conduct on the platform.

Rules for users posting jobs

Anyone posting a job on Sneet agrees to the following. You must provide a complete, accurate description of the task before anyone agrees to do it, clearly state who will be present during the task and what the environment looks like, state the expected duration and any specific skills or requirements, agree on payment terms before the task begins, treat all users with respect, ensure the environment is safe and appropriate, and for in-person tasks involving users aged 14 or 15, ensure an adult is present at the location unless the task takes place in a public outdoor setting. You must not contact a young person outside of the Sneet platform messaging system, request private contact information from a young person before a job is confirmed, ask a young person to attend a location different from the one listed, post jobs that involve private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms not described in the listing, post jobs that give a young person sole responsibility for another child or a vulnerable person, post jobs that involve personal care or intimate contact, post misleading or vague job descriptions, or offer or discuss payment in cash in a way that bypasses agreed terms.

Suitable and unsuitable tasks

Tasks that are suitable on Sneet: outdoor work such as lawn mowing, car washing, and garden tidying, pet care such as dog walking or pet feeding, light home help such as tidying and organising in shared areas, event and market help assisting adults at community events, digital tasks such as social media assistance and basic graphic design, tutoring and skills-based help, and supervised activity support when a parent or responsible adult is present at all times. Tasks that are not suitable on Sneet: babysitting or any arrangement where a young person has sole responsibility for another child, tasks taking place in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms not described in the listing, personal care or any task involving physical contact with a vulnerable person, overnight or live-in arrangements, any task involving the handling of medications or financial accounts, and any task that a reasonable parent would not feel comfortable with. If you are unsure whether a task is appropriate, do not post it.

Conduct and communication

All users agree to communicate respectfully, honestly, and clearly. This means using platform messaging for all job-related communication, not pressuring or manipulating other users, not making personal, romantic, or inappropriate comments to any user, not sharing another user’s personal information with third parties, and not asking for or sharing content that is inappropriate, explicit, or harmful. Communication between adult users and young people must remain professional, task-focused, and take place only within the Sneet platform.

How to report a concern

If something does not feel right, users are encouraged to stop and report it immediately. You do not need to be certain before making a report. To report: email hello@sneet.com.au, use the report function within the platform on any listing or user profile, or in an emergency call 000. All reports are treated seriously and reviewed promptly. Where appropriate, the relevant account or listing will be suspended while the matter is investigated. Where Sneet reasonably believes a child may be at risk, we will take appropriate action which may include contacting relevant child protection authorities. We will not share the identity of the person who made a report without their consent, except where legally required.

Platform responsibility

Sneet provides a platform for users to connect. We are not an employer, a labour hire service, or a supervision service. Sneet is not responsible for the behaviour or reliability of any user, the outcome or quality of any task, payments or disputes between users, personal injury or property damage arising from any task, or any interaction that takes place outside the Sneet platform. These guidelines set minimum standards for use of the platform. Meeting these standards is the responsibility of each user.
